Step 1: Expectations for Practice

​​​​​​​**CPL Deferral due to COVID-19: Effective April 2020 to August 2021, all members will have the option to defer compliance with their CPL program requirements for one membership year due to COVID-19. The option to defer compliance will be available to members on their next annual renewal. Members may only select this deferral option once. CPL audits are currently postponed until further notice. To help you understand the deferral option based on your renewal month, please review the CPL Deferral Chart. ** 


This module should take approximately 1-1.5 hours to complete. You do not have to complete the entire module in one session.

Please be advised that you will need to complete a brief survey after completing the Expectations for Practice Module. Click on the button labelled survey after you finish the module, and the survey will load on your screen. 

Following the survey please return to the module to electronically save or print your certificate of Completion.​​​

Technical Requirements

Recognizing College members use a wide range of client operating systems, browsers and display resolutions, the Expectations for Practice Module was tested and works with all current and mainstream desktop browsers, specific​ally:​

  • Internet Explorer (version 11 and later)
  • Firefox (version 48 and later)
  • Google Chrome (version 53 and later)​

You will require the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader to open and save the Certificate of Completion at the end of the module,  If you do not have version 11, you can download a free version from Adobe’s website at https://get.adobe.com/reader/

Please note that Safari is not a supported browser for the Expectations for Practice Module. ​

​​If you experience performance issues using any of these browsers, please report the issue to us at techsupport@college-ece.ca. To assist us, please include:

  • date and time of the incident;
  • version of the browser you were using, plus the operating system you were using (e.g. Windows 10);
  • description (ideally a screen shot) of the issue you experienced.​
