2017 Council Meeting Highlights

1. January 2017

Council approved:

• A by-law change with respect to the Eligibility for running for President of the College

Council received updates on:

• The College’s key strategic priorities
• The Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice review
• The Cntinuous Professional Learning program
• The Protecting Students Act
• Registration and Professional Regulation Trends

The Nominating committee presented a skills matrix for Council

2. April 2017

Council approved:

• the new Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
• the Continuous Professional Learning portfolio documents
• a by-law change to increase one-time fees

The Nominating committee presented a skills matrix for committees

Council received a presentation on transparency, protecting the public and government overight

3. June 2017

Executive committee was elected and the committees of Council were constituted

Council approved:

• a practice guideline on dual relationships
• a policy on issues impacting the practice of early childhood education
• updated committee terms of reference
• A by-law regarding the College’s authority to create rosters for the purposes of sitting on panels
