Candidate Statement

Hello, my name is Lindsey Dann and I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator with the College of ECE.  As a Childcare Supervisor and Faculty member of Confederation College I have a passion for Early Childhood Education and sharing my knowledge in policy, legislation and advocacy. I have had the pleasure of being elected in April 2020 and joining council this past three year term.  Being a council member is a privilege and I take my role on committees such as complaints and standards of practice very seriously in order to serve and protect the public interest. As a current council member I have gained new insight and knowledge about the profession and have strengthened my own skills in professionalism, administration and strategic planning. Being a council member has given me confidence to continue to be a leader within my own organization and community.  I believe my experience as an RECE, teacher and current council member have well prepared me to continue to serve council should I be re-elected.

Candidate Statement

It would be a pleasure to continue to serve on the College of Early Childhood Educators Council! I have extensive self-regulation knowledge and plenty of experience participating on Council and College committees. I am a proud Registered Early Childhood Educator with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology at Laurentian University (1985) and an Early Childhood Education Diploma from Conestoga College (1987). I have over 36 years in the field with experience in most areas within the profession, having worked in licensed child care, special needs services and family supports in both program delivery and management. This experience includes 17 years with a northern municipality, where I have developed strong leadership skills that I utilize on Council. As a northern community leader, I have strong connections with several northern communities through Northern Ontario Social Services Deliverers Association, Planning Networks and the Northern Quality Network. I have lived and worked in three northern communities. This familiarity gives me a northern perspective that enables me to make a unique and valuable contribution to Council! It would be a true privilege to be re-elected to the College of Early Childhood Educators’ Council!
